In an interview with the donator of these photos, she told the story of her third grade year when Florence Lord, a small, quiet woman, was the teacher.  One school day a deputy came to talk to Miss Lord and took her away.  He announced to the class that he was taking their teacher away and he put the largest boy, "Fat" Conkright in charge.  Fat was the most mischievous boy in the class and one who gave the teacher trouble.  After the deputy left, Fat announced that everyone could just go on home.  The teacher came back the next day, but she had been questioned by the police, as she had been along when her boyfriend had stolen some chickens.
